This is more like it. Technos decided to go in the opposite direction from Shodai Nekketsu Kouha, making this one into a straightforward brawler. They did however retain the high school gang theme and the storytelling and script are much improved. The option to switch between four characters on the fly is nice (each one has a couple of unique moves), and the game has some unusual elements such as a bike sequence and parts where the usual tilted perspective is shifted to a standard sidescrolling one. Unfortunately they aren't much fun, and some of the best features in the original game such as weapons (why?) and shops have been stripped. Tachi no Banka was a step in the right direction but not good enough to make River City Ransom obsolete
