I actually don't dislike this episode, but I don't like it either. I feel like there was a good story kicking around in there somewhere. Armin grows to respect a man very different from himself, and when that man dies, he takes over his life, becoming a better person and making that man's mother happy. The episode is supposed to poke fun at people who like the "status quo is god" rule. What happens is that a lot of the episode feels rather serious, then has a ridiculous ending that throws it all out the window. My least favorite scene is the one between Armin and Krabappel, which seems to be really serious and ridiculous at the same time. Pick one or the other. "That's the kind of talk that makes me want to marry you. But instead I'm leaving town forever."
