The whole game is focused on survival and crafting. You can dig, mine, forage for food, chop trees, build houses, make tools and make your own village.
I first entered the charming world of Wurm with no idea what I was doing and where to go. But that's the beauty of it; there's no map, no missions; you're left in a world in which you can decide to wander and choose your life. Make a boat and sail the seas and rivers? Become a hermit and live on your own in the hills? Establish your own village with people? Live in tandem with locals? Become a skilled carpenter and sell your wares? Become a fisherman? In Wurm, you do what you want, as long as you can survive. Wurm is beautiful and charming. It's time consuming, but very rewarding.
