I had this gruesome dream a night ago, following two groups of people. First the dream was following some boys wearing scout uniforms. They looked like uniforms I've seen in some eastern European movies, but not those white Young Pioneer shirts. Green shorts, green shirts. The boys all looked like they were 10-12, and their troop was marching through some field surrounded by woods when they were captured by a small group of sadistic invading soldiers. They made the boys kneel with their hands behind their heads, and the dream cut away.

The dream cut to another group of soldiers, but I'm not sure if they were American, or if the dream was set somewhere else. They had been captured by another team of invading soldiers, who roughly tied them together in a pile on the floor of their large rowboat, with wrists tied to others' ankles, legs tied to others' chests, just piled together and unable to move. The enemy soldiers tortured them endlessly for days, maybe weeks, and made the men eat each other alive, biting chunks from each other. Some of them were missing hands or feet that their friends had been forced to eat off them.

The dream cut back to the kids, who had also been forced to engage in cannibalism, but some of the boys were unscathed, as the soldiers needed them intact to sell them into slavery. They were in a forest village in an unspecified south Asian country, and one of the boys was getting sold to a family who wanted to buy him as a husband for their daughter, and would raise him alongside her until they were old enough to be wed. The dream faded between shots of the boy meeting the girl, and they seemed to get along. He ran away before he could be sold though, and two of the soldiers chased him down to the edge of the forest, which ended at a suburban neighborhood where the boy would have been safe. The dream kind of played out multiple scenarios, one where the boy was killed right at the edge of the forest, one where he successfully disappeared into the neighborhood, with the soldiers stopping at the forest edge, and one where they caught the boy and broke his legs, so he wouldn't be able to run again.

At some point one of the captured soldiers, a lanky man, also made an escape from the invaders while their boat was docked, and this scenario may have played alongside the young boy's escape. I'm not sure what became of this soldier.
