Going for S ranks, so I finally have to git gud. I managed to S Rank Vergil with Dante on Son of Sparda difficulty, which took my basically all day, then attempted on Dante Must Die difficulty and did it on the first go, despite requiring two red orb revives.

Replaying levels so many times is highlighting a major shortcoming for me, which is how many loading screens you have to sit through. Go to Mission Select -> LOADING SCREEN -> Select Mission 10 -> LOADING SCREEN -> Skip cutscene -> LOADING SCREEN -> Select loadout -> LOADING SCREEN -> Skip another cutscene -> LOADING SCREEN -> Finally the mission starts but now I have to get ready for work! And oftentimes on the higher difficulties I'll fuck up early on and realize I might as well restart, but it won't let me restart straight to the beginning of the mission, it takes me to the loadout selection and I have to sit through another two loading screens! It's fortunate the game is so compelling because I've given up on games for less.
