Been a while since I've seen a good anime mystery. By that, I mean one that stays consistent for over 20 episodes. And somehow, The Apothecary Diaries turned into a slow burn that rose to a huge peak at episode 19.

It's as if Hercule Poirot were given an entire season to figure out only one or two epic mysteries. And various other shenanigans. Definitely not as gory as effing Detective Conan, but the wild murder plots are far more believable. I invested way too much time into the show. And I enjoyed every second of it. The animators and writers came up with truly intense mysteries out of the source material.
