Vision Creation Newsun is a monstrous and towering slab of otherworldly neo-psychedelic experimental rock. It's mostly instrumental, but it's filled with hypnotic and grandiose melodies and over the course of the album it evolves from energetic and epic into something much more atmospheric and meditative. While everything here is greatly impressive, from the loud and wonky guitar chords to the insane post-production effect, the real standout here is the jaw-droppingly energetic drummer Yoshimi P-We, whose tribal inspired drum work throughout the album's length keeps everything wonderfully upbeat. To me, this album is like a drummer's journey through an airy psychedelic dreamworld, and it's one of the best things I've ever heard. The more I listen to this album, the more it grows on me, and the more I become convinced that it's one of the single greatest accomplishments in music history.

In a music genre filled with gloom and dark environments, it wasn't long before and album like VCN came along to flip everything the genre had done previously. VCN is definitely no casual listen, but when one does take the time to really let this record engross them, it is incredibly rewarding. Never before has an album captured such a great feeling of optimism in the grander scheme of things so effectively. It's not about humanity's inevitable demise or back stabbing nature that seemed to be a popular topic of that era, it's about everything good our species has. The ever creating and ever progressing mindset and how we don't let any pressures get between us and our goal to keep on building. What strikes so powerfully about this album is it's energetic and colorful presentation that'll leave the listener with the feeling that they can do anything. Go humanity! Go us! Fuck yeah!
