Probably the best serious fighting game out there. It's roster isn't the largest but there's a sizable amount of characters (20 in all) and 95% of them are fun to use. The game is really well balanced and unlike most fighting games, button mashing is easily punishable. It's learning curve isn't as steep as people say it is. In fact, a run-through the excellent training modes should help even the newest player. The graphics and soundtrack are pretty standard but the ability to change the soundtrack to another VF games soundtrack is a nice touch. The customization is, unfortunately, entirely DLC but it's a lot of fun regardless.

Almost as good as VF4:Evo. It plays a lot like VF4 but with even more diversified movelists and a couple new characters of course. It plays a little more loose than its predeccessor, involving more guess work in strategy compared to the tight VF4, but it is also the most accessible VF yet. Sadly the console release was rushed compared to the fantastic VF4:Evo, especially the PS3 version, which had no online and inferior quest mode AI, which is probably why this was forgotten by the public in a short time. That's a shame because it is still one of the best fighters I have ever played. Here's hoping Sega releases an update on consoles yet.
