Nvidia Ansel (super 1000 megapixel screenshots, a photo mode) is out for Witcher 3. Requires the latest Nvidia driver and Steam/Gog patch. Not sure if certain cards aren't supported (though obviously Nvidia is required).
edit: looks like any card from the 600 family and up is supported

Silent Gamer They really need to start spacing these releases out How am I going to decide what to get first when there is so much awesomeness packed into such a short period

Husky Wing This is an especially good time. It's like the opposite of 2014. No Man's Sky, Quantum Break, Skyrim Special, Pokemon...

Richard Pale It's easily my favourite game of last year and the expansions are at least as good as the main game. Well worth a buy if you don't have it already.

"Geralt, there's one more thing I'd like to ask you. Your beard. Why did you decide to grow it out?"
I just shaved 70 seconds ago, so I could look all proper for this feast. I feel insulted.

Husky Wing Also wow, this has become my tenth most played Steam game, and I don't think I'm nearly done playing it

Ed Kick While I think Witcher III is slightly overrated, I didn't love as much as everyone else but Gries He. It's still a fantastic RPG and between Witcher, DA: Inquisition, Fallout 4 and others we've had quite a few really good RPGs in the past few years.

Sandy Vich What? No! Toussaint is in Nilffaard. I'm headed south. Pffft, like I would head north after freezing my balls off in Skellige.

Not Important Dyed armor makes my hype bounce up and down. Too bad I wont have time to actually focus on this in some time.

Witcher 3: Blood & Wine will be about "as big as all islands of Skellige combined"

"Fuck me, CD Projekt Red are lunatics."

Husky Wing I'd bet they mean the islands. Also, the expansion ups some of the visuals, including the grass.

Richard Pale Sounds like it's roughly Dragonborn/Shivering Isles sized to me if that's the case. It ups the visuals on consoles or just PC?

Husky Wing I don't know about consoles, perhaps that info's online though. If not, maybe you'll find a pleasant surprise when you play it!

I have yet to finish it... in Novigrad, but wow this is taking a silver sword to DA: Inquisition (I was surprised, even though I really liked the game, to look and see how many goty awards that won, haven't been paying much attention the last couple years to all that stuff) and all of its side quests. This is how you do side quests in an open-world (mostly) game. I've played open-world games with meaningful and interesting side quests (Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3), and I've played open(ish)-world games with good overall story-lines (RDR, GTA IV and 5, mostly, DA:I even), but I have not played any that do both well (am taking recommendations, and while Rockstar's side missions are quirky, they are almost never satisfying. I appreciate them and the commentary and jokes they make, but don't enjoy playing them), and certainly not arguably doing both as well as any games do in either category. I have no idea what to expect with these side quests, and I love that. Seemingly simple contract quests sometimes bring about chance encounters with really cool characters, past and present, and normally the monsters one fights are just plain fun to see and fight. Well done CD Projekt! At least so far.

We'll see how it finishes up but I've already had some tear-jerking moments. Not to mention Gwent, which is up there with Liar's Dice as one of my favorite in-game minigames (is this a list yet?!), probably better (within the game, I love Liar's Dice far too much in real life) in that there's even story-line interaction with it and you play with real characters also. It's hard to believe what they started with in the first Witcher and what they've built the series into without ever making it feel like too much. I'm also continually amazed at the vast difference between even side quest endings and later dialogue options based on one's choices the couple times I reloaded to see, and at the difficulty of some of those choices. I'm writing this because I can't play it for the next week and I feel like I have to say something.

When I turned on my PC today I was greeted by a Steam notification that I'd been gifted The Witcher 3 + Expansion Pass.
That bundle costs $85.
I've got some great friends.

Guess I ought to replay 1 + 2 soon!

Silent Gamer Damn, someone loves you

rockshard PhD how did you get someone to like you so much that they give you $85 worth of games? I think sexual favors must have been involved.
