I wanna do this special review just because I was chatting to my friend about #Mayuri Shiina and I got reminded of this and it's really not something talk about much. Bear in mind that there will be spoilers so read the rest at your own risk.
What I want to talk about is not how genius SG is, or how incredible the art is or how awesome the chars are. Nor how intense the plot is and how the twists are amazing. That's all true, but I want to talk about something different: The relationship between Okabe and Mayuri.
You see, after episode 9 (if I'm correct) Mayuri dies and the rest of the anime is about trying to turn back time and save her, in what is easily the best part of the entire anime. Now Okabe tries everything he can to save her, but he just can't seem to, at the end of the two days she always dies. But he keeps trying and keeps trying, over and over and over and over and over and over again, until it drives him mad(der), until desperation overtakes him, but he still doesn't give up on saving her, he'll do anything he can to have Mayuri back to his side safe and sound again.
But this is the point I want to come across: Mayuri, throughout the anime, is never represented as a possible love interest for Okabe. That would be Kurisu (Which, admittedly, would be my first choice as well. Good going, Okarin!). This is the only time I remember a connection this strong between a male and a female that isn't either sister or the most obvious love interest. It is as if guys cannot have such a strong relationship with a female friend without wanting to jump on her pants. So, I was happy to actually see such a story between FRIENDS and not obvious lovers. And that's just another thing that Steins;Gate does right.
But don't worry, everything else in this anime is perfect too.

Editing … I agree completely. It would've been so easy for the show to fall into the pit of forced romance, but it's bypassed so smoothly. Honestly, couldn't have said it better myself.

The first part was a bit slow but everything that occured feels important in the second part. The details, the characters and their relations, the story, everything is excellent. By the way, I much prefered Okabe to Hououin Kyouma! :P I really loved this character, he is amazing. Thanks @Master Crash, your favorite anime is genius.

Editing … You absolutely shouldn't have, you can see my scores on every episode on Favs. It is interesting in the first part, and in the second it is inspiring, frustrating, haunting and depressing.

Fuuuuuck, man. Some of the most intense storytelling, gripping suspense, and interesting chemistry I've ever seen in an anime. Being a timetravel show, there's bound to be a few plot holes, but get past that and it's a must see for any fan of anime or television in general.

    Itching for more #Steins;Gate?

#Steins;Gate: Soumei Eichi no Cognitive Computing is a four episode OVA short series commissioned by #IBM to advertise their Cognitive Computing initiative and all the episodes are now available to watch subtitled on the IBMJapan youtube channel.

The original studio and VA's are involved in this project so despite essentially being a series of advertisements they still have that early Steins;Gate feeling.

You get around 15 minutes of new Steins;Gate fluff content.
