Someone might just call this the all-out-solo Wilco album, because Tweedy decided to rely more on his instrumentalists in 2007. Sure, this still has that neo-indie country appeal of Jeff Tweedy, but the frontman of Wilco knew that he didn't want to rely on the technological effects of his biggest album, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. At the song Side With the Seeds, Sky Blue Sky reaches legendary levels when guitarist Nels Cline goes balls-to-the-wall nuts with the song's solo prog rock ending. The album never received the acclaim it deserved, but it proved that Jeff Tweedy knew what he was doing when he reassembled his own band in the aftermath of his fourth album.
