Very solid action game, but feels so far away from what got me interested in the series in the first place. Somehow, I feel an itch to play it again, which must personally mean that it did indeed do a few things right.

The follow up to Resident Evil 4 has as many points on the favorite games list as Kirby: Air Ride.

I got the Complete HD Remaster Director's Cut Ultimate Edition + DLC Compilation a few weeks ago and just now started playing it. I see they didn't do anything to fix the clunky controls but they at least "improved" the partner AI.

    Hey
    fellas
I have a spare copy of Resident Evil 5 for Steam. I'm hoping to trade it for http://www.gamestop.com/pc/games/metro-2033-redux/116892 , while it's on sale. Anyone willing to take me on this trade?

Not better than RE4, we can all agree with that; but there is no denial that it's still a very fun game, the story has a questionable writing, plenty of plot-holes with generic characters, some of them that appear to just die and a predictable twist; nice visuals and a good enemy variety, the controls could have definitely use some improvement regarding how TPS are and it turned the horror factor down heavily. Dissipate the negative observations, it's a fun game to play; a lot of replayability with the mercenaries mode and it's extra content.

Good game and I believe it's underrated, it's better than many give it credit for.

Is it as good as RE4? No. Are the controls problematic in a straight-up action game RE5 is? Yes. Is the story kind of dumb? I suppose (though this is a Resident Evil game after all). But is it still fun? Hell yeah, especially if you're playing co-op. Not the legendary game its predecessor was but I still like it. This game gets too much hate.

There's no horror in Resident Evil 5, but it doesn't really matter. I love this game because is pure action, sometimes I feel like I'm watching a movie, other times I feel like I'm really in trouble, this game make me have feelings. I love Sheva, I think she MUST make her comeback on a new Resident Evil. And the coop mode was just a great adition for the old RE formula. And forget about the poor AI, this is not the most important thing in this title.

RE5 got a little too much crap from the fans; it turned clichés of the series on their heads by venturing into bright, sunlit backdrops and quick-footed enemies instead of shadowy corridors and shambling corpses. The campaign is a blast in co-op. For fans of the older games, the Lost in Nightmares DLC pays homage to them and offers some serious scares.
