Need for Speed: Most Wanted is a 2012 open world racing game with nonlinear gameplay, developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts. Announced on 4 June 2012, during EA's E3 press conference, Most Wanted is the nineteenth title in the long-running Need for Speed series and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, iOS and Android, beginning in North America on 30 October 2012, with a Wii U version following on 14 March 2013 under the title Need for Speed: Most Wanted U. The game picked up on the Most Wanted intellectual property, as opposed to the Hot Pursuit reboot that Criterion developed previously. Need for Speed: Most Wanted received positive reviews, which focused on the world map that blended the styles of previous Burnout and Need for Speed games, and the social features, while criticism fell on the single-player mode.     The philosophy of NFS: Most Wanted seems to be: get the player driving ASAP in this huge and diverse playground and get rid of everything that prevents the player from doing so.
    Pros: Astonishing VITA port, extremely fun driving model, huge, varied and beautiful city full of memorable locales, overall excellent soundtrack, plenty of races and cars to drive, solid amount of variety in the types of races, interesting gameplay decisions, fast load times, great graphics with really good and stable framerate, fast and easy to use interface, excellent to pick up and play for a few mins or for a few hours, plenty of content, great potential for multiplayer
    Cons: The need to create an Origin account in order to access multiplayer, often bizarre pre-race cutscenes, when at high speed it's sometimes difficult to see the traffic in broad daylight until it's too late, some songs are ear-grating, limited car customization options, generic police chatter, map takes an unusually long time to load
