Editing … I don't like how it looks visually. It's the apocalypse but everyone looks like a fashion model and well groomed. Then again, I guess that doesn't matter as long as the script is good.

Editing … oh hah, I thought it would be a game trailer and I was thinking to myself "wow, have graphics really become this realistic?" but then I saw that it was a movie and then I saw the cgi and then I thought to myself "wow, cgi has gotten very bad." How has cgi gotten worse over time. I see that a lot in movies today. Do they just not care to make it look good anymore?

Editing … One excuse given for CGI getting worse is that major studios insist on rushed post-production schedules. The VFX studios just don't have enough time to produce good effects. It probably doesn't help that we're using CGI in places where we used to always use practical effects. Lots of movies make me think "this would look so much better if they made this in the '80s."

Editing … David Fincher makes great movies, but with each film his movies look more and more synthetic, as he realizes he can accomplish more and more in post. It was kinda sad to look at The Killer, even though I enjoyed the movie. LED sets are also a pretty big step down from chroma screens, at least once you get used to spotting them.

Editing … Also look at Babe (1995, real animals, practical puppets and VFX) and compare it to a talking animal in any modern movie. Damn we fucked up.

Editing … The Killer was inspired by a French film called Le Samourai, so I guess I'll have to watch that one. Funny, I actually had the specific thought, "I bet this movie would've been better if it was a French movie from the '70s." It's from 1967, so like, I was close. I think the thought came to me because of The Conformist (Italian, but largely set in Paris).

Bethesda Is "Less Likely" To Let An Outside Studio Make A Fallout Game Again
Bethesda's Todd Howard praises Obsidian for Fallout: New Vegas, but says he'd rather keep development internal.
    https://www.gamespot.com/articles/bethesda-is-less-likely-to-let-an-outside-studio-m/1100-6460518/

"I wouldn't say never," Howard said. "[But] now that our company is so big, it's always better to keep stuff internal ... it becomes less likely, but I could never say never. I thought the Obsidian guys did a fabulous job."

I'm on a Fallout mission at the minute, I currently have games of 3, NV and 4 all on the go at once.

The PC versions of F3 and F:NV are SOOOOOOO much better than the console versions. At least on my strong PC they are. I wish I'd bought them sooner.

It makes me sad to think that a lot of the people who will inevitably rank this series won't have played the first two (and best two) games in the franchise :(
