Dead Head Fred is a technical marvel that looks and sounds great, but isn't all that fun to play after awhile. Scaling the size of the main campaign slightly down, while cutting out two thirds of the combat encounters, would have done wonders for the game. What should have been one of PSP's finest games, is instead a mediocre title... Such a shame.
Pros: Funny, fantastic character designs, excellent characters and voice acting, great writing, one of the best looking PSP games (both technically and artistically), solid platforming and puzzle sections, quirky (but monotonous) music, variety in environments, plenty of content, loads of interesting ideas…
Cons: …most of them are undercooked/used, insanely big reliance on weak combat, too few platforming and puzzle sections, bad camera, frequent load times, one music track per area, sidequests are strictly combat oriented, too long for its own good
