Animal Crossing is one of those addictive and time-consuming games where you could spend ten hours building your home and speaking with cute-but-strange creatures moving in and out of the town. For me, it wasn't love at first sight. I was already fond of strategy games and RPGs in the early 20s and the Final Fantasy series (Final Fantasy IX especially) left my feet on the ground but my head in the stars, for a short time. Back in 2003, a serious disease occured and I swapped my gaming console for medical machines. My parents bought me the GameCube after leaving the hospital, and Animal Crossing was just the game I needed, easy to use and as strange as what I had just experienced. I felt like one of those freaking villagers, from a distant planet. I don't know if I would have bond with this game as much as I did if I hadn't gone through this. I tried many times to get back to series with the sequels, but I never felt the same sensations than the first time.
Score: 8.0 (Great!)
