    Saved!
This seems like an interesting movie, but I kind of lost interest in what the creator had to say with it when he said, in an interview about this movie, that depressed/suicidal people shouldn't take medication because "people just don't want to ever have to feel saaaaaad these days, man." Depression isn't just ~being sad~ and that's not how anti-depressants work, you ignorant shitdick.

Editing … You should watch it. I think this movie is great. I'm curious to hear your opinion about it.

Editing … I heard medication leads to suicides and shootings. I dunno. Depression doesn't really strike me as a clinical condition that's meant to be treated. It's more than likely a result of other factors.

Editing … As someone who's depressed and does better with medication, you're wrong. The reason people think medication "leads to suicides and shootings" is because depression makes it so you can't find the energy or motivation to do anything (even, in many cases, commit suicide), and with that depression symptom nullified by medication... well, yeah. If you're already suicidal or considering shooting someone, you should probably deal with those issues first.

Editing … why not deal with the source of the depression instead of the symptons. then there wouldn't be a risk of suicide. Also, there's such a thing as helping people wrong. Most of the time it's just an expert butting in someone's life and making things harder on them and then patting themselves on the back for "helping". It's easy to not take medication but prescribe it someone else. It's easy to prescribe anything. That's narcisism. That's classism. And it's dangerous. It's being a politician. Making up rules that don't apply to you but the blunt of which will affect many other people.

Editing … The "source" of the depression in many cases is a chemical imbalance in the brain, which is what anti-depressants are for. Medication isn't the right answer for everyone, but if you have clinical depression then in most cases medication helps.
