In Batman: The Caped Crusader you will find a 2D action game where you control Batman through a maze across Gotham City, a maze of smaller connected "rooms" rather than a big scrolling screen. You occasionally pick up items, but mostly fight henchmen in hand-to-hand combat - and hench-penguins. You *will* get hit a lot though, no matter how good your skills are.

The graphics of the game are quite distinctive as the "rooms" are presented as comic book panels, staying true to the comic book roots of the franchise. The gameplay however gets repetitive fast - just like the music - and you can easily get lost in the maze.

The controls are very rudimentary which unfortunately results in terribly unintuitive item management.
