Battle system is great because the Grandia battle system never gets old. Unfortunately everything else around it fell flat for me. Exploring the 2D environments is a slog, especially because of their vertical nature. Worse is the rhyming dialogue, which feel really contrived most of the time and outright amateurish the rest of the time.

It's not terribly but it's disappointing.
