    I really hate this movie...

My review is simple: it's not funny. The problem for me was the jokes felt WAY too forced. The 4th wall breaking was uninspired, the constant pop culture and internet meme references were cringeworthy and felt shoe horned in to make it appealing to today's social media generation. The story is really nothing special, no interesting things about it at all. Good things were the action scenes and the CGI, not great but still good.

My hatred for this film goes deeper, though...this is gonna be one of those films that everyone I know will love, and then when I come and say "I thought it was pretty bad", everyone's gonna jump at me with "That's Deadpool", "You just don't get it" or the classic "You don't have a sense of humor". And what am I suppose to respond to that? I can't argue my way out of that because that's what they'll think of me anyway - a boring joy kill, with no sense of humor...

I left the theater feeling like shit...

Editing … Yeah, the seemingly very forced humor from the bits of the movie I've seen kinda put me off wanting to see it. Shame too since I wanted to support it, since it made a lot of straight dudes mad after it was pointed out that Deadpool is a canon pansexual lol

Editing … I wouldn't judge based on the trailers. I wasn't a fan of the bits like "Did I leave the stove on," or "I'm touching myself tonight," and I was hoping at some point Wade would say "What, you're expecting me to say that thing you heard 1000 times in the trailers?" but sadly it was a missed opportunity. Same goes for the CG test footage from ages ago. Lines like "I'm pregnant, Trevor" induced more groans than laughter. That said, the movie had me giggling hysterically throughout. The jokes were certainly not limited to referential humor, and a lot of the referential jokes were actually fairly underplayed if you ask me. There were several points where I was roaring with laughter and other people in the audience were dead silent and giving me looks because they evidently didn't get it. You don't need to be a massive comic book geek, but it certainly helps to have an affinity for the X-Men film franchise.

Editing … Or maybe they were dead silent because it wasn't funny?

Editing … They were laughing at the rest of the movie, just not callbacks to other movies and performances. Don't be so mad brah.

Editing … I didn't get the Origins: Wolverine Deadpool depiction jokes until I'd seen that movie, so I believe Sandvich when he says there are other jokes I just wouldn't understand
