Listening to #To Pimp a Butterfly & #Good Kid, M.A.A.D City recently have provided me a type of experience I've never had with music before. What was basically a casual hobby has now turned into something rather obsessive, especially with hip-hop. Both albums dramatically changed my opinion of the genre. It's far more complex then my previous ignorant mind thought. And what I've enjoyed most from this experience is taking the time to understand/learn as much as I can from them. I've had god knows how many repeats of both and still feel like that I'm coming away with something new - and to me that's amazing.

Basically thanks King Kendrick, you my boy and I find myself somewhat indebted to you for making me a little bit less ignorant.

Editing … You'd probably like To Pimp a Butterfly because of just how much 2pac influences it - so much so that I've seen people say that it is dedicated to him in a way. I'd say the album is much more then just that, but it is definitely there. For instance #The Blacker the Berry shares the name & ideas of the same Thurman novel that 2pac used as a bases for his song Keep Ya Head Up. Also I'm leaving out the huge part that 2pac plays in the albums narrative, but I'll let you figure that one out for yourself.

Editing … I loved #Untitled unmastered, fantastic stuff. Kendrick is a real powerhouse, I'm glad, I've followed him since 2010 or thereabouts, it's a great feeling watching him grow as an artist.

Editing … Jesus Christ Griesie, I literally explained why I'm glad I listened to Kendrick Lamar when he was still underground, that thing you said (I said thing because it sure as fuck wasn't a joke) makes no sense on any level. Go watch football.
