Machismo overload. Underneath all the brute force and badassery is a very solid 3rd person action adventure. I'm not the biggest fan of cover mechanics (see Killzone 2) but Gears gets it just right. A simple but engaging story, nice set pieces and lovely, brutal gunplay makes this game the action title of the year. Bring on number three!
