Horror Movie #18/101

It might not be Universal Studios first attempt at a werewolf film (#Werewolf of London predates it by 6 years) but The Wolf Man made sure that the werewolf made it's way into modern pop culture and cemented it's position as one of the primary monsters of the horror genre. Lon Chaney Jr. works great as the tortured soul dealing with the werewolf curse, and the rest of the cast does a splendid job as well (most notably Claude Rains as the father of Chaney's character). The transformation scenes are very impressive for the 40's, the werewolf makeup is noteworthy as well.
