    Saved!
As a review (spoilers): the first 30 minutes are a God-awful slog through what adults think teenagers go through in their day-to-day lives. Eventually it opens up to a long chase scene that takes up the whole second act with a horrible resolution for the third. What we all want to see are the villains from our favorite books but the antagonist we see the most of is Slappy, who is desperately pointedly a mirror for the character of R.L. Stine. Eventually you realize its just monsters menacing a town and everyone runs away screaming with arms in the air. As a kid's movie, its fine. But for anyone who grew up watching the TV shows or reading the books during first printing will find that its a bad nostalgic trip. Also there's a cameo by the real R.L. Stine who plays the school's drama teacher, Mr. Black. (#SEEWHATTHEYDIDTHERE?) And as usual with Stine's kid-friendly horror stories, there's a twist ending.
