Why does this movie run at like 120 FPS?! Everything feels sped up, it's unnatural, unnecessary and distracting.

Editing … wait, movies run at different fps now? I thought wasn't possible, like it was standardized or something. TVs now come with the option to speed it up though so you can make any movie have it.

Editing … Looks like someone isn't going arrive at the gates of Valhalla all shiny and chrome. Also, as someone who sat through the 48fps, 3D HFR, hell that was The Unexpected Journey - and I believe Desolation of Smaug as well - I'm inclined to believe that you, good sir, have no idea what you're talking about (also it's you after all, so really that's kind of a given regardless).

Editing … Watching The Hobbit in 48fps was a fun experience, all 3D should be enjoyed that way (I find watching movies in 3D to be choppy, it's awful). Maybe next time someone tries it they'll test it on a good movie :p

Editing … I've seen Fury Road, didn't even notice the frame rate but I did really like the film. My favourite of 2015 from what I've seen so far. (I've also seen The Hobbit trilogy, pretty weak films compared to LotR but again I didn't even notice the frame rate)

Editing … Fury Road most certainly ran at 24fps, and most monitors and TVs can't even display anything above 60fps. I don't believe the 48fps versions of The Hobbit have been released on home video, and it cost extra to see the high framerate versions in theaters.

Editing … I didn't like it one bit. It looked weird and caused eye strain, giving me a headache and the urge to vomit. Never has a film given me such physical pain before, and to make matters worse I was already suffering from emotional pain cause of the film itself. I don't have the willpower to deal with both.

Editing … Just a side comment on technicalities and whatnot, because apparently I care about that stuff, even if it was sped up (the opening "escape" scene did look sped up, I agree), it was probably still displaying at 24fps. Unstable framerates can be nauseating, it wouldn't make sense to change it during the film (that's why console games cap at 30fps, because otherwise there'd be constant swings from 25 to 40)

Editing … With games fps doesn't speed things up, if you play a game uncapped you will just experience jerkyness and smoothness (the only exception is when game logic is tied to framerate). Not sure with films but it should be the same, higher fps won't speed things up, you just have more frames filling in the empty spaces so the movie appears smoother not faster.

Editing … ^ this is correct (although there actually are a few games that tie their physics to their framerate, like NFS Rivals, so increasing the fps cap on that really does speed it up) - apparently I know this stuff
