Half strategy/simulation and half 2D hack and slash game? Sign me up! Act Raiser took two completely different genres and put them into one game, careful to balance the two so that one side or the other didn't wear out its welcome. Sometimes you bless your people from above with gifts of rain, sun and agriculture. Othertimes you need to warp down to the planet and kick some ass, personally. Combine that with one of the best soundtracks SNES ever produced and some beautiful sprite work, and you got yourself a sleeper classic.
