While I thought the Revenant was a good movie, my knowledge of the base character Hugh Glass and the plots discrepancies relating to it as well as numerous survival faux pas diminished my overall enjoyment of the film. The average movie goer will probably like it a lot. I also thought they lingered a bit too much at some parts and the emotional moments didn't strike a cord for me. So .. good, not great.

Editing … What were the survival blunders? It looks like a decent movie though I've never heard of Hugh Glass.

Editing … It's the dead of winter and he's always cold but he keeps walking into water. One of the first rules of surviving in the cold is staying dry. He uses fresh wood from trees to build a fire. Fresh wood takes a hell of a lot work to keep burning. He's in a shelter during a whiteout snowstorm that doesn't appear to have any air holes and it gets completely covered with snow. Which would cause suffocation overnight. All things Hugh Glass frontiersman would've known among some other things.
