The graphics were AMAZING for the time, and still hold up to some degree. Great game play, boss fights, and music. There are also mini games in between levels where ninjas come at you and fill up the screen...graphics that were unmatched at the time. I saw this on a commercial as a kid and had to have it. Really, really hard however.
