Angel's Egg is one of the finest examples of world building in Japanese animation. It has a moody atmosphere which is highlighted by an beautiful yet haunting art style and unsettling music. The story is fairly simple yet ambiguous and leaves you thinking about it after the credits roll. What a great movie to end the year with!
