I know this is hard to believe, but
The Nintendo DS version of Lego Star Wars II is by far the greatest Lego game I've ever played.
The levels bear little resemblance to the primary console counterpart, and in some cases are a bit goofier. It's also a buggy mess, with graphical glitches, levels that break in free-play, and being able to move around in cutscenes and kill everyone else. Ah. Great game.
Free-play also allows you to play as every single character. That's neat.
