Someone asked me if I liked more the old gen Crash or the new gen (Stupid question) here's my answer:
To put you in perspective, my childhood WAS Crash Bandicoot 3, the original Crash games for me are beyond games, they're memories, they represent times where life was simple, when I knew what happiness was, something I've forgotten along the way.
When I think of Crash Bandicoot, I remember me as a kid playing Crash with my best friend, I remember playing with my sister, with my dad, Hell, even with my mom. I remember telling my friend to hit the God damn changing box before it turned metallic and my mom teaching me that sometimes we have to be patient with people because of course they're not going to know everything all the time and screaming was not the solution. I remember that I couldn't beat a boss and have to ask my dad to do it, I remember playing the dark levels and actually be creeped out. I remember me and my friend trying to pretended we were Crash and doing Spindashes and ended punching each other with resulted in me bleeding from the mouth, but I just laughed it off. I started wearing glasses because I spent too much time playing Crash Bandicoot way too close to the TV.
I use Crash as my nickname because it represents not only the game, but my childhood, the foundation of who I am today.
And yes, I know that the games after Crash Team Racing aren't that great, but honestly I do enjoy Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity and the GBA ones...
But the reboot... the reboot destroyed Crash, it destroyed EVERYTHING that the game stood for. It changed the designs, it changed the gameplay, it changed the feel. The reboot it's a betrayal to the original series, and therefore, it's a betrayal to me and every fan of the originals.
It destroyed the character and then abandoned it... And I understand that you can't make a game as great as the first three. Not every studio is Naughty Dog, not every studio makes Uncharted and Jak & Dexter and The Last of Us... I understand that. But other studios tried before and, even though the games weren't as great, they were still Crash, and I didn't mind those, I'm fine with those.
But God Damn it, look at the new games, JUST LOOK AT IT! Look at Uka Uka! I almost died trying to understand that design! >_>
So, yes, I prefer the old gen, I prefer the old gen games to... 90% of the things in this world.
