Etrian Odyssey is a DS turn based rpg based on 80s computer rpgs like Ultima and Wizardry. After creating a team of characters, you dungeon crawl through 25 big floors and fight the final boss. There's little story to get in the way of the grind, and the graphics and music are just decent. The gameplay is challenging and very addictive. The customization for each of the classes is fantastic, progressing through the dungeons and finding new stratums is fun, being able to draw your own maps is really cool, and the bosses are intense. EO is slow paced and very lengthy, and doesn't hold your hand as much as the later games.
