It's really interesting to watch Aspect grow through their GG Sonic games. Sonic 2 was borderline incompetent and cruel. Chaos removed most of the problems, but wasn't able to pull off something that was really gripping. Triple Trouble finally hits the mark with a game that's about on par with Sonic 3 for the Genesis. The stages finally feel unique and memorable, the bosses are fun, and the boss fights in the last level are some of the best in the early series. The only real bad part is that Tidal Plant Zone, the underwater level, is kind of a pain, but that's pretty normal for any Sonic game. I still think the first GG Sonic game is the highlight of the 8-bit Sonic games, but this is a close second, and I highly recommend giving it a shot if you haven't.
