There are biographies and then there are biographies done by Bennett Miller. Much like Errol Morris when it comes to the documentary genre, Miller is one of the premiers of the biography genre. And with "Foxcatcher" Miller has made another great one. At the center of this true-life tale is a intense & captivating tale about betrayal and discovering ones place in the world. And at the center of this tale is an out of class performance from Steve Carell, who becomes another prominently comedic actor who excels in a largely dramatic role. His portrayal of multi-millionaire John E. du Pont is a sympathetic, cold, & intense one that really brings home Miller's film. This is easily one of the best of 2014 for me, yet another great entry to Bennett Miller's career.
