    Back in the 90s director Richard Linklater made "Dazed and Confused", a send up for anyone who grew up in mid to late 1970s America. Then in 2014 he directed "Boyhood", a send up for anyone who's experienced growing up in general. With "Boyhood" Linklater packs so much detail & love into the film and shows just why he is one of the best directors of our time. He didn't have to shoot this film over a twelve year period, the small moments present are not necessary to the overall story progression. You see it isn't the story that makes "Boyhood" so remarkable, it is rather mundane - but I would make the argument when is is life all that exciting. It's the overall attention to detail, the amount of effort & care on the part of Linklater, and just how well Linklater grasp reality that makes "Boyhood" a truly wonderful experience. With "Boyhood" Linklater has encapsulated a life from youth to early adulthood and I find that truly remarkable. There really is no other experienc
