Saved!Gries HeEditing … Never heard of this show before I saw your post. Now that I've read a quick synopsis and a couple of reviews on amazon, I'm thinking about pre-ordering all 5 seasons on blu-ray. But I still need sth that pushes me over the edge.
Saved!Ryan ThorpEditing … Well, I'd say that The Wire was widely considered the best thing HBO ever did until GoT came around. I really just love the nuance of the shows seasons, how it has such a good ear for reality; CSI it is not. Despite its lack of commercial acclaim (like awards and such) I'd say with the up most confidence that The Wire is one of the best crime dramas ever made. The boxset is quite expensive & I'd recommend watching it with Amazon Prime. If that isn't an option for you then maybe just start with season one. If money in general isn't a problem then yea, buy the boxset because it is absolutely worth it. First two seasons are good, then you get to season three & four and the show blows you away (at least imo).
