My favorite thing about this game was its difficulty, it was refreshingly tough at times. Also there is great mission variety. Jak II takes a lot of steps backwards though, including trading a spacious, seamless world for a dingy, claustrophobic city populated by loading screens. Jak being angry and cussing all the time generates some big eyerolls. The driving bits of the game get the GTA formula very wrong: the city's way too crowded and crash-into-able considering how fragile the cars are. Trying to go fast or have fun means instant death. Not one of the best PS2 games.
