The original is a broken mess, don't play this version. Play Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge instead, it fixes a lot of problems. It doesn't make it amazing, but if you're starving for more Ninja Gaiden action that's anything remotely like the first two games, then just stick with Razor's Edge. Even the god awful plot of the game is tweaked by having less of it intrude the gameplay.
