It should say a lot that Link's Awakening was, with no argument, the best handheld Zelda game for two decades. Even as new games were made for the GBA and DS, Link's Awakening captured the essence of Link to the Past better than any game since that game's 1991 release, handheld or not.The game's oddball sense of aesthetics and unique concepts and execution at points also make it refreshing to go back and play. Even though that text for heavy pots can be frustrating.
