    Saved!
I've never been too knowledgeable about jazz. Before this record, I knew Coltrane and Davis very faintly. It wasn't until TBSatSL that I was really exposed to the broadness of jazz. Despite the cool and smooth stereotype that is related to the genre, this album was dark, gritty, and genuinely scary at points. The bipolar arrangements and popping instrumentals gives a spine chilling sense of exploring the unknown. It feels like accidentally driving into the bad side of town. The streets are riddled with crime and the everyone around you seems to be against you. Even while being instrumental, this is one of the most picturesque albums I've ever heard. This album is a cacophony, but one unlike anything else I've heard.
