When Casshern came out, I thought it was the most amazing thing ever made by anyone anywhere ever. That was then. Unfortunately it hasn't really aged well in terms of its look and effects, and its message, in hindsight, has about as much depth as a Friends Of The Earth leaflet. However, the music rocks and that fabled one-guy-fighting-thousands-of-robots scene still does the job, and generally I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to anyone looking for a suitable marriage of anime and live action. Still, 5 out of 10.
