Though not necessarily the best game on the GBA, Advanced Adventure is a great representative of the Dragon Ball series up through Goku's childhood. The combination of different action genres, including platforming and fighting game mechanics as well as more traditional 2D action elements, is reminiscent of the series and provides plenty of entertaining scenarios. Bosses ripped from the manga/anime are surprisingly fresh, thanks to their diverse nature and obscurity to those unfamiliar with the series prior to DBZ. The game is a bit shorter than preferable, especially given the quantity of material to work with, but this is better than simply adding padding. Plus, the game includes plenty of replay value, from a new campaign to a Versus Fighting mode to minigames.
