Remember Me falls short of perfect in a few areas. For instance, the combat--I personally really enjoyed the combat system they came up with, allowing the player to create custom combos that can be changed around to suit different situations. However, it's a little lacking in the polish one expects in a top-tier character action game. This lack of polish can lead to a good deal of frustration until the player becomes more skilled. The apparent inability to skip cutscenes even after completing the game is sort of irritating. On the other hand, the level design is strong, with healthy variety between combat, puzzles, and PoP-esque platforming. The story and writing are mostly top-knotch, though there are some holes in this trend of quality (particularly with the character Scylla). Nilin is a refreshingly dynamic female protagonist, showing both vulnerability and strength in very human and believable ways. It's a thrill to watch her transformation unfold throughout the game.
