The Best Friends LP is reminding me of how much I love this game. I love how after all the going downward and dropping down holes and going down that elevator (which is like a full minute real time with nothing happening) in the Historical Society/ Prison/ Labyrith, you manage to get back to the surface without going upward at all. It's so abstract and bizarre. And the game does nothing to point out to you how abstract and bizarre it is. It doesn't say, "Look at this neat thing we did". James says nothing. It's just there. And I love how the symbolism and metaphors in the game aren't just designed to tell the player something, but also the main character, giving them a more logical meaning and context. Just... MMM... fucking Silent Hill 2. It's been out almost 15 years and I'm still into it hardcore.
