Surprisingly, my favorite game of the series after two somewhat disappointing games (Revelations--very disappointing--and ACIII--a little disappointing). Edward Kenway's story arc is pretty interesting, probably better than Ezio's. It's also the most unique game of the series, and it added/changed more new things than any AC game since ACII due to its heavy naval warfare element. Black Flag also has some very memorable characters, again something Ubisoft hasn't done too well since ACII and Brotherhood. I still don't really care for the overarching story for the series, at least the weird precursor god race thing, and wish they just stuck to Assassins and Templars. Anyway, the gameplay here is at its finest, and all the elements added in by prior games in the series have been made even smoother. And also, Blackbeard. Blackbeard.
