Management simulators are the only games along these lines I've played before and considering how much harder running a country is than running a football club I was surprised how much more simplistic this was. It feels more like a very complicated mini game than a game in its own right and even though the game mechanics seem complex at first glance the decisions you take and the effects they have are all super straightforward compared to real world politics. It also doesn't really make any difference which country you play as which is a shame. It's still good fun though and for a few pounds in the Steam sale it was worth it.

I tried putting my views into practise and got a thriving economy, utopian society and 97% public support so I'd like to think it's realistic. Just for comparison my dad gave it a go, caused a recession in his first term and got assassinated by angry liberals.
