Not sure how I made myself get through this without save states a few years back, to be honest. It has the makings of a great 8-bit action platformer, featuring excellent visuals and sound as well as pretty creative level design and fast gameplay. The wall jumping works very well for 1989. But the unresponsive jump controls (there's a delay, also making attacks not register when landing or jumping, and turning in mid-air is not immediate like you'd expect), sometimes sloppy hit detection, and cheap hits (leaps of faith) really get in the way of the actual challenge which is also quite high (especially at the end with two tough bosses in a row and no checkpoint or way to farm for health near before meeting them). Difficulty options or some way to upgrade your character could've made this much more enjoyable.
