    Saved!
A decent beginning to the series with some interesting ideas, good music and fast combat. The most enjoyable part for me was entering saved creatures' dreams to access a parallel world where one could solve minor puzzles. The execution of the main concept isn't always that great, there's a lot of backtracking and artificial gating, and the combat is rather repetitive and simple due to generally dumb AI and an abundance of enemies in most spawning points. The story is pretty cliché and somewhat fragmented, forcing a love story near the end, but the game has a unique atmosphere and there's some decent humour. A look into the protagonists mind and his origin would've been interesting but perhaps too much to ask for of an early 16-bit ARPG
