Had some unforgettable moments on battle.net playing this. Watching it slowly take shape with every patch was something new and exciting at the time and got me almost dangerously engaged with the game. Single player wasn't bad either, at least not until the expansion. SC2 may have improved on some mechanics but it didn't quite manage to replace the first one as my favourite RTS.
