I always disliked this series for ripping off Wonder Boy, but I have to admit the TG16 version improves on it (the original) a bit. This game isn't on par with that version though and feels watered down in comparison. My main gripe is that it plays slower, not just because of it being on the SNES but the level designs simply lack the flow and intensity of the other games. On a positive note it is a bit of a show off title in terms of the sound quality of the music, but I'd expect no less from Yuzo Koshiro.
